Alex M. Calero - San Diego - Public Member
Mr. Calero is a senior staff counsel in the enforcement division of the California Department of Corporations. Prior to being appointed to the Dental Hygiene Committee of California, Mr. Calero served as a member of the Board of Psychology from 2007. Previously, he served as a legislative aide for Assemblymember Bill Leonard's Office from 2000 to 2001.
Cathy DiFrancesco - Vacaville - RDH
Since 2008, Ms. DiFrancesco has served as a dental hygienist for Paul E. Johnson, D.D.S. Previously, she was a registered dental hygienist at the dental offices of Antonio Zarate from 2007 to 2008 and the dental offices of James W. Childress, D.D.S from 2006 to 2008.
Rita Chen Fujisawa – Davis – Public Member
Since 2008, Ms. Fujisawa has served as associate executive director of marketing and membership for the California Optometric Association, where she previously held the positions of director of marketing and membership from 2002 to 2008 and senior marketing and membership manager from 2000 to 2002. She worked for On Lok Senior Health Services as marketing project manager from 1996 to 1999, business development specialist from 1996 to 1998, communications associate and acting development officer from 1992 to 1996 and administrative assistant 1989 to 1992. Prior to that, she was an executive assistant for Hyatt Regency Embarcadero from 1988 to 1989 and the Hong Kong Tourist Association from 1986 to 1988.
Michelle Hurlbutt – Upland – RDH Educator
Ms. Hurlbutt has served as an assistant professor at Loma Linda University, School of Dentistry since 1999. She has been a dental hygienist for the dental offices of William C. Domb, D.M.D. since 1998 and previously for Ronald Walton, D.D.S. from 1985 to 1997.
Since 1975, Dr. Langstaff owned and operated a private practice in Villa Park, California. Prior to that, he was enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 1975. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Orange County Dental Association, and the Southern California Academy of General Dentistry. In 2010 he was president of the California Academy of General Dentistry.
Ms. Ward has been a dental hygienist for Dr. Duwad Muhammin since 2009 and for Dr. Tom Sharp since 2007. She was a dental hygienist for Dr. Michael Carpentier and Dr. Grace Mary Hume from 2007 to 2011 and for Dr. John Bristow and Dr. Scott Swoboda from 2009 to 2010. She was a probation counselor for the Contra Costa County Probation Department from 2001 to 2009 and for the Fresno County Probation Department from 1999 to 2001.
Andrew Wong – Diamond Bar – Public Member
Mr. Wong is a litigation partner at the law firm of Dechert LLP. Prior to joining Dechert in 2011, Mr. Wong was a partner at Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe LLP, and an associate at Howrey LLP and O’Melveny & Myers LLP. Mr. Wong is an elected governing board member of the Pomona Unified School District, and a member of the California Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs.
